How You’ll Feel: Renewed, Nurtured, and Deeply Relaxed
Level: Beginner, All Levels
Targets: Deep body release, relaxation, fascial release
Description:
Yin Restore is a deeply meditative practice focused on passive stretching with the support of props like bolsters, blankets, and blocks to help create the stretch and shape of each pose. This class is designed to fully relax the body, allowing muscles and connective tissues to release tension with minimal physical effort. By holding these passive poses for extended periods (3-5 minutes), you’ll target areas like the hips, lower back, and shoulders, encouraging deep release and relaxation. Slow, mindful breathing throughout the practice enhances the body’s ability to soften into each stretch. Yin Restore is perfect for those seeking to rest and restore both body and mind, leaving you feeling calm, refreshed, and nurtured. The session ends with a grounding meditation or extended Savasana, providing the ultimate sense of renewal.
What You'll Do:
You’ll set up supported poses using props like bolsters and blocks, allowing your body to passively relax into each stretch. Hold these poses for 3-5 minutes, with the props providing the necessary support to target deep connective tissues requiring little to no effort in the body, especially in the hips, lower back, and shoulders. Poses such as Reclining Butterfly and Supported Child’s Pose will be used to encourage deep release. Throughout the practice, slow, intentional breathing will help deepen the stretches and enhance relaxation. The class concludes with an extended Savasana or grounding meditation to fully unwind any remaining tension.
