Mantra Meditation Workshop
Mantra meditation has power to sooth anxiety and create joyous feelings by releasing the ‘overthinking mind’.
The word mantra has 2 parts: man-, the root of the Sanskrit word for “mind,” and -tra, the root of the Sanskrit word for “instrument.” A mantra is an instrument of the mind - a vehicle that can be used to enter a deep state of meditation by chanting or silently repeating.
Mantras exist in many cultures and traditions. They serve a variety of purposes, which vary by tradition and individual. They provide a means of heightened mental clarity, emotional healing, cultural connection, or personal affirmation.
Most ancient/classic mantras come from Sanskrit, one of the oldest and a very onomatopoetic language - meaning the words of the language resemble their sound in nature. The mantra may be spoken softly, loud enough for the practitioner to hear it, or it may be recited silently within the practitioner's mind, by contemplating on the meaning of the Mantra.
In this 90-minute Workshop you will learn few simple Sanskrit Mantras, understand their meaning, significance and experience the positive vibrations of chanting. Mantra meditation heals the body and mind by promoting relaxation, stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system, and helping with the physiological symptoms of stress and anxiety.
